How to Adjust the Parameters of Press Brake Components

Before using a press brake to bend material, you need to adjust its various parameters, including the bending force, back gauge distance, slide upper limit, slide speed and the gap between the upper and lower dies, so that they meet the actual operating requirements. So how are these parameters adjusted?

Regarding the adjustment of the bending force of the press brake: it is mainly based on the calculation formula to work out the bending force of the sheet in kN, and then calculate the indicated pressure P value according to Table 1. Then adjust the handwheel of the relief valve so that the generated force is slightly greater than the kN value of the sheet to be bent.

The adjustment of the back gauge distance of the press brake is used for positioning in the length direction when bending the sheet. It is adjusted by the motor controlled by the buttons on the front button box; the adjustment value can be read from the counter on the button box (conversion value 0.1 mm per revolution), and a handwheel is provided for fine adjustment.

The adjustment of the slide upper limit of the press brake is achieved by adjusting the position of stopper II, so that the rising slide can stop at the required top dead center. This shortens the slide travel distance, reduces the work cycle time and thus improves productivity. The slow-speed action of the slide is related to stopper I: touching the travel switch makes the slide move slowly, and the duration of the slow travel is adjusted by an adjustable potentiometer.

The adjustment of the upper and lower die gap in the press brake is completed by the buttons on the button box at the lower right of the operating worktable. Operate in the direction indicated on the press brake nameplate. The initial gap should be greater than the sheet thickness, and then the gap should be refined according to the angle of the workpiece being bent. Of course, a handwheel can also be used for fine adjustment; the adjustment value is displayed on the calculator, and each increment or decrement of a digit is 0.1 mm. If the two ends of the workpiece angle are inconsistent, loosen the stop pin, move the connecting rod to the left, disengage the left-right rotation connection, and turn the handwheel to change the mechanical limit distance at one end, achieving fine adjustment of the workpiece end angle.
